Type B residual current circuit breakers (RCCBs) are suitable for both domestic and industrial applications where inverters, photovoltaic installations, EV chargers, etc., are used. Type B RCCBs are sensitive to sinusoidal residual currents, pulsed DC residual currents, and smooth DC residual currents. These breakers feature a high frequency response up to 1 kHz. They are based on electronic technology, which provides the benefit of a more precise evaluation of the residual current, consequently extending the lifespan of the device. These breakers do not face the difficulties associated with the magnetization of internal circuits, as is the case with standard solutions. This allows for a reduction in the frequency of recommended testing, though tests must still be performed regularly in accordance with applicable regulations and standards.
